SAN SIMEON PASO ROBLES SAUVIGNON BLANC $19.99
2018 US Winery of the Year
San Simeon Sauvignon Blanc is a bright, refreshing wine with intense flavors of citrus and pear. The nose reveals bright aromas of white peach and lime zest. Mineral notes express the rocky terroir of the vineyard. Our Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in stainless steel tanks at 55° F for several weeks. This long, cold fermentation preserves the delicate flavors and aromas of this variety. Immediately after the fermentation, 10% was transferred to neutral French oak barrels in which the lees were stirred for several months to add texture and depth.

Sustainably Farmed
Maddalena Chardonnay comes from 3 cool-climate vineyards in the Monterey appellation, including Sarmento of Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, Loma Vista of Arroyo Seco AVA, and Rancho Soledad on Monterey AVA. All 3 sites benefit from a maritime climate, with foggy mornings and sunny, breezy afternoons. 60% percent of this Chardonnay was barrel fermented in small American
oak barrels giving the wine a beautifully rounded mouthfeel and lovely touches of well-integrated toasty oak. Fruit aromas and flavors include tropical guava, Meyer lemon, and freshly squeezed orange, with additional notes of white flower and spice. 45% percent of the wine went through malolactic fermentation, imparting a subtle buttery component. Natural acidity gives the wine structure and a lingering finish.

Clean and likable aromas of black-cherry sorbet, light pepper and sumac are fresh and fun on the nose of this bottling. The palate is bright with ripe blackberry flavors, but a woody grip and vanilla-bean element on the mid-palate ensures both quick pleasure and a long life.

Maddalena Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our estate grown vineyards in both the El Pomar and Creston districts of Paso Robles. Small lots are picked and fermented individually with minimal intervention to allow the true expression of the soil and climate. The 2021 vintage is one of the best coming out of Paso Robles in the last few years. With moderate heat and low rainfall, 2021 yielded smaller crops and berries with outstanding quality and more concentration in the fruit.
