Rubus Private Selection Verdejo $13.99
The Rubus Project was created by Fran Kysela as a way to source & sell incredible wines at value prices. All wines in this international project are hand-selected by Fran Kysela. Rubus wines are fruit driven, true-to-type values that over deliver
- a true representation of quality for the consumer at an excellent price.
Rubus Private Selection is made from 100% Verdejo grapes coming from the town of La Seca in the heart of the Rueda region in Northern Spain. Pale yellow color with green highlights, the wine offers clean and crisp aromas of citrus fruits,
a refreshing and well-balanced palate of zesty flavors.
Navarius Rioja Blanco $16.99
"Nivarius" is a Latin term that defines the natural well where the snow was kept all year round. Nivarius wines benefit from altitudes above 700 meters, a northern orientation and the influence of the continental climate that make wines of character, fresh, with natural acidity. They are produced with minimal intervention and respectful of the biodiversity to reflect the expression of the terroir.
Nivarius is a 100% Tempranillo Blanco from vineyards in Albelda de Iregua and Montes de Clavijo, at an elevation of over 700 meters, resulting in a fresh, unctuous and perfectly ripe wine that is both lively and pleasant to drink.
Straw-yellow in color with a with greenish rim.
Good intensity on the nose, hints of pome and stone fruits accompanied by subtle aromas of white flowers and minerals. Fresh and well-balanced on the palate with stone fruit flavors, dry fruits, and a long finish.
Gundian Albarhino, Rias Baixas $17.99
Gundián is a local surname & the name of several Galician villages (3 in the area) as well as a famous bridge in Galicia - thus the bridge graphic on the label. The Gundián Bridge, also known as the Gundián Viaduct, is a bridge that spans the Ulla river pass, on the old railway line between Orense and Santiago de Compostela.
Clean and bright wine, straw yellow color with greenish flashes. On the nose, it has fruity and floral aromas of high intensity, especially apple and stone fruits (apricot). In the mouth, the freshness and youth of the Albariño stand out with a well balanced acidity which makes it savory, sweet and glyceric.
Palacio Del Burgo Crianza, Rioja $17.99
Slightly raisiny berry aromas come with accents of leather and oaky vanilla.
This is a generous crianza with density and chewy depth. Similar to the nose,
this tastes of borderline jammy cassis, blackberry and prune,
while the finish is smooth but short due to modest acidity.
Rubus Spanish Red, Organic $19.99
This Organic Red Blend from Tierra de Castilla is 70% Tempranillo and 30% Syrah.
It’s made in a Rhone style, with whole berry fermentation proceeded by skin contact.
You’ll find a dark purple color, rich cherry fruit, freshness and a surprisingly long finish
that’s almost too good to be true for a value wine.
