Our Thoughts….
We love this wine so much that on our Frist day open back in October of 2003 we served this wine (2000 Vintage) out of a Jeroboam (3 liter) bottle to all who attended our opening party! A few years later Pete Seghesio came in town to pour in the shop….boy was that a night! On to the Wine…..
Wonderful balance and sense of elegance, it offers vivid ripe fruit flavors that are rich and complex, with spicy black cherry, blackberry, pomegranate, herb and sage notes that add flavor dimensions and complexity. Firm, but ripe tannins add structure, allowing the fruit to push through. Every year, Seghesio brings in approximately 35 lots of Zinfandel averaging 25-30 years in age. Each of these lots is produced under the careful eye of winemaker, Ted Seghesio. The best of these lots are selected to make Sonoma Zinfandel and it shows.
